Your Instructor
Hello! I’m Pearl. I’m a creative, a vegetable lover, a horrible singer, moderate exerciser, and a Mama Bird (my favorite gig). My name is Renee, but most of my friends and family call me Pearl. It’s my grandmother’s name and she is a very special lady who I miss dearly.
If we spend any amount of time together you’ll likely hear me say “I love our lives”. And it’s true. There is so much to be thankful for in this life and I love recognizing the joy in all the moments. I’ve loved, I’ve lost, and I AM HERE FOR IT.
I also consider myself a lifelong learner. I’ve always loved school (we even had fun summer school, with classes like cooking and ceramics, growing up and I LOVED IT), reading, and teaching. My first experience with online learning was in my Master’s program and that environment really felt right for me. So much so that I went on to get a doctorate degree in Educational Technology and pursue a career designing, developing and teaching online courses at one of the most innovative universities in the US. My favorite part about creating learning experiences is knowing that it will positively impact student’s educational careers and lives!
The last thing you should know about me is that I love a good craft project! My work is so tech-dependent that I really love time where I can work with my hands and make something really beautiful. There’s something super grounding and fulfilling about cutting, gluing, threading, and making things.
